Why Beeswax Candles?
We love beeswax candles because they burn longer, burn with a bright golden flame and smell amazing with their subtle honey fragrance.
Unlike paraffin wax candles which are derived from petroleum or soy candles which use hydrogenated soybean oil and may use genetically modified product, beeswax is a completely natural product with minimal processing.
Because beeswax is dense and has a high melting point compared to other waxes, it burns cleaner and slower with little to no dripping or smoking at all.
It is also said that beeswax candles are a natural air purifier in the home, clearing the air of dust, pollen, bacteria and impurities.
They also add a wonderful ambience and a warm glow to your room.
How to burn a Beeswax Candle:
Beeswax candles burn a little differently to paraffin or soy candles, so to extend the life and burn of your candles here are a few tips.
Keep your candle out of drafty areas, this will cause your candle to burn quicker and may cause dripping.
Keep the wick straight and trimmed to around 5mm every hour of burning time, this will prolong burning time and also prevent any smoking.
It is better to extinguish your candle by either dunking the wick in the liquid wax using a skewer or using a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame rather than blowing it out.
Remember to always burn on a heat resistant surface and never leave a candle unattended or in the reach of children or pets.
